The 'Silence of the Lambs' star Jodie Foster aged 45, separated from her partner of 14 years Cydney Bernard in May in order to start a new relationship with the writer Cynthia Mort aged 51 and reports suggest that the change might cost her around a quarter of her estimated $100 million fortune.
According to the National Enquirer magazine, Cydney could legally ask for the huge sum because one half of Jodie's fortune was made during the time that they were together.
Jodie, who is not unsurprisingly eager to keep Cydney happy is allowing Cydney to live rent free in one of the her properties.
Jody, who is an Oscar-winning actress is also permitting Cydney to regularly visit her sons Charles and Kit who are aged nine and six respectively as well as giving her an annual six-figure sum.
A source said, "She wants Cydney and Cynthia to be friends. Jodie realizes that if Cydney perceives them to be one big happy family, she'd never sue for half her assets".
