Jennifer Aniston, who recently ended a high-profile relationship with Vince Vaughan was apparently hoping to star alongside Kiefer Sutherland in the TV thriller '24'.
She is best known for playing the part of Rachel Green in 'Friends'.
However bosses at 'Sky One' felt that Jennifer was simply too famous to appear in the series and a source for the company said 'Jennifer was too recognizable and having such a well-known actress star in the series would have taken away from the 'reality' of the show.
The Rolling Stones tour which began in late 2005 played to sold out stadiums and arenas worldwide and grossed an estimated 224 GBP million according to the numbers reported by Billboard's 'Boxscore'.
Madonna's 'Confessions' tour came second and was the top-grossing tour ever by a female artist.
Not all of the top ten places were taken by 'rock' acts however and the final list looks like this :

The Italian couturier Roberto Cavalli admitted to tricking anti-fur advocate Christina Aguilera into wearing real fur onstage even though he was instructed by Aguilera not to include any real animal fur for the singer's current world tour.
Aguilera was tipped off by PETA (People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals) vice president Dan Mathews who sent her an e-mail with a link to a video showing foxes getting killed by anal electrocution.
The singer quickly responded, saying she that was "very upset" and insisted that she "only ever wears fake fur".
The stole has now been replaced with a fake fur version in time for gigs in Switzerland, Austria and the Czech Republic this month.
Why Roberto Cavalli would have done this is totally beyond me !?
Insiders say that Lopez who was raised as a catholic has been introduced to the ideas on which Scientology is based by her friend Leah Remini who stars in US comedy show 'King Of Queens'.
Meanwhile Jim Carrey is said to be taking introductory courses in the religion.
The media were stunned last month when Cruise and his new wife Katie Holmes invited Jennifer and her husband Marc Anthony and Carrey and his girlfriend Jenny McCartney to their Italian wedding.
Cruise and Holmes have socialized with Lopez and Anthony on at least three occasions over the last few weeks but a spokesperson for Lopez said, "I have no knowledge of this, but I probably wouldn't have a comment on it if I did."

Shakira has teamed up with Colombian author Gabriel Garcia Marquez in Panama City to launch a child poverty foundation.
In Latin America it is reckoned that at least 350,000 children under five die from causes that are linked to poverty and at least 40 million minors live and work on the street.
It appears, and hopefully so, that the celebrities that will aid Shakira and Marquez's foundation are Spanish singer Miguel Bose (who will serve as executive director) and singers Ricky Martin, Juanes and Alejandro Sanz all of whom plan five concerts in 2007 to raise funds for the child poverty foundation.
Shakira also has a Colombian non-profit foundation entitled 'Pies Descalzos' which was honored last month by her Colombian hometown with a 4.5 meter (14.8 feet) tall, six ton (5,443 kilogram) statue of her.

According to the grapvine Britney Spears is now dating music producer Jonathan Rotem and has reportedly turned to medication to help her get through her divorce from Kevin Federline.
Jonathan Rotem, who has previously worked with Justin Timberlake and Paris Hilton is now assisting Britney with her new album and the pair were seen kissing whilst out on a date in Hollywood just three days ago.
Britney and Jonathan took one limousine ride to the cinema and then a second one back to Rotem's house.
As for the rest of the night - well who knows ? Well not yet anyway !
Ending weeks of speculation it would now appear that Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn have now agreed to mutually end their relationship.
Jennifer and Vince began dating in the summer of 2005 whilst working on 'The Break-Up' in Chicago following her divorce from Brad Pitt.
The devil seems to have been in the distance as Vaughn has been filming 'Fred Claus' in London since September and Aniston has been busy working in U.S.
Several tabloid newspapers alleged that he was seen kissing a mystery blonde but Jennifer Aniston denied that rumor on Oct. 11 when she appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show.
Former Spice Girl Melanie Brown has hit back at her ex-boyfriend Eddie Murphy and says that she is shocked by his comments regarding the paternity of her unborn baby.
The Wannabe singer had been dating Eddie since June, 06 but he has now demanded a DNA test to prove that he is the actual father of her child. Brown issued a statement to Hollywood blogger 'Perez Hilton' this morning, saying, "I am obviously upset and distressed at some of the comments made by Eddie Murphy to the media. "I have no idea why anybody would want to conduct themselves in this kind of manner about such a personal matter in such a public way". "My main concern is for the well being of my daughter Phoenix and of course the baby. I was astonished about what Eddie said - there is absolutely no question that Eddie is the father."
Murphy appeared on Dutch TV and announced the couple were no longer dating only one day after the singer said they were looking forward to spending Christmas together.
Murphy is now stepping out with his new girlfriend Tracey Edmonds and were recently seen at the New York City premiere of his latest film 'Dreamgirls'.
Heather Mills will reportedly represent herself during some of the court hearings in her divorce battle with estranged husband Sir Paul McCartney.
The former model apparently dispensed with the services of her barristers in an effort to keep her legal costs down but will continue to use the legal firm Mischon de Reya to handle the battle over money and the custody of her daughter Beatrice aged three.
A legal source stated, "She has to be careful about the size of her legal bills and by representing herself she is able to cut down on the costs."

Jessica Simpson's mother reportedly scolded her daughter in front of Dolly Parton and US President George W Bush after the 
pop star forgot the words to the country star's '9 To 5' at Sunday's Kennedy Center Honors.
Tina Simpson was apparently furious with her daughter and told her she should quit the music business if she didn't want to put in the work.
According to the website TMZ.com, Tina said her performance was both "embarrassing" and "unprofessional".
Jessica's mother was further angered because Jessica had failed to make an earlier dress rehearsal and hadn't bothered to learn the words to the song. during the performance.
The show's producers apparently almost cut her out of the show and insisted that she re-tape the performance without anyone in the audience if she wanted to be included in the show's subsequent broadcast this coming Dec. 26th
DiCaprio broke his silence but it's hard to know if Bar Refaeli will be happy with his appraisal of her.
Most gossip columns were very interested in DiCaprio's relationship with Bar Refaeli before but are even more so now given his comment about her. Dicaprio said in an interview to the French weekly Paris Match ahead of the release of his new film 'The Departed' in France, in reply to an interviewer's question, 'what do you think about Bar', 'she's a nice girl'.
Perhaps because of the not-so-enthusiastic quote, Paris Match chose not to treat the model very kindly and referred to her as "an Israeli model who avoided military service." and also described her as "a younger look-alike of Gisele," who is DiCaprio's ex-girlfriend.
I'm not sure that he meant any harm here. The interview was done in English and he said 'she's a nice girl'. What was he supposed to say, 'she's a loose no good scarlet woman'.

As usual Paris Hilton spoke out loudly but this time to deny reports that she and her new friend Britney Spears had been sexually intimate.
She insisted that they are just great friends, full stop, period.
Almost a week ago a British newspaper claimed that Paris Hilton and Britney Spears engaged in sexual activities during a November 19 sleepover in Las Vegas.
Almost everything is possible when it comes to Paris !

Oscar-winner Gwyneth Paltrow is apparently "deeply upset" over stories claiming she made anti-American remarks in a Portuguese newspaper and claims that she never said anything against her native country.
The actress allegedly claimed 'people in her adopted Britain are more intelligent and civilized than Americans' in the newspaper DiarioDe Noticias.
She fumes, "I feel so lucky to be American. When you look at the rest of the world, we're so lucky and that's something my dad always instilled in me. I feel so proud to be American. I felt so upset to be completely misconstrued and I never, ever would have said that."
Paltrow says that she didn't give an interview to the newspaper but did give a press conference in Spanish which perhaps caused the confusion.
She adds, "I said that Europe is a much older culture and there's a difference. I always say that In America, people live to work and in Europe, people work to live and there are positives to both''
And "Obviously I need to go back to seventh-grade Spanish!" was her final retort.
Seems that Pamela Anderson and Kid Rock weren't a match made in heaven !
Pamela filed for divorce from husband Kid Rock after only three and a half months of married bliss!
The actress/model and the rock star both filed for a dissolution of the marriage at the beginning of the week but Anderson won the race to the divorce courts.
Anderson, who is represented by celebrity divorce lawyer Neal Hersh cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split which effectively ends the couple's three-and-a-half month marriage.
Cameron Diaz and the The National Enquirer are supposedly close to an agreement.
The American magazine accused her of cheating on her longterm boyfriend Justin Timberlake and the lawsuit claims the article not only damaged both of their reputations but also placed needless strains on their personal relationships.
According to court documents revealed by E! Online a summary of the proceedings reads, "Counsel report that settlement discussions have been productive and that parties are close to a settlement."
Speculation on the cost of the settlement vary between $17 and $60 million.

Sadie Frost once known for her hard partying says that she has now given up alcohol for good.
The actress who has three children, Iris, Rafferty and Rudy by her ex-husband Jude Law says that her priorities changed following a recent trip to South Africa.
She says that she gained a different perspective on life whilst in S. Africa and will now cut out the booze and focus on more important matters.
Sadie is now planning to travel to Borneo in order to visit orphans and will also make a documentary for Britain's ITV.
According to People magazine the 'Desperate Housewives' star actress Eva Longoria and the NBA player Tony Parker got engaged on Wednesday.
Tony apparently flew into LA and popped the question following a San Antonio Spurs game.
Liza Anderson, a spokesperson for the actress announced the news to 'People', saying, "Eva and Tony are officially engaged", and added, "The couple have never been happier."
The two stars Longoria, 31 and Parker, 24 have been dating since November, 2004 and are planning to wed next summer in France.
So although there were rumors of a break up in September it would appear that the couple have happily worked out their problems.
Cameron Diaz says that she has no intention of ever marrying Justin Timberlake that she's been dating for four years.
She says that they're practically married anyway at that she doesn't like commitments so why bother to get married.
She has however agreed to having corrective surgery on her nose which she has broken four times and is now causing her breathing problems.
She's reportedly something of a tomboy and last broke it whilst surfing.
