Kristin Davis says that she believed that she would drink herself to death before her 30th birthday.
The 'Sex and the City' star says that alcoholism runs in her family and she feared that her drinking, which started in her teens, would lead her to demise.
Kirstin, who is now 43, said, "I really didn't think I would pass thirty. I drank a lot when I was a teenager. I had a fatalistic viewpoint".
Her parents moved to South Carolina when she was just a child and she says, "I felt like a misfit. I was in the South, everybody was blonde. I just didn't feel like I fitted in. It was sort of my way of fitting".
She gave up alcohol at age 22 following a stint in rehab, after which she vowed to commit herself wholly to her acting career.
She told Marie Claire magazine, "I got into the acting program, it was very challenging, I was hung-over and I wasn't doing so well in my classes. I thought, 'Do you know what? It's going to be one or the other. I can't really have both.
Kirstin ended by saying, "I miss it. You don't go to rehab and then suddenly it goes away".
The actress Kristin Davis who plays Charlotte York-Goldenblatt in the 'Sex and the City: The Movie' says that she gets very embarrassed if she has to undress in front of the cameras.
She said, "I haven't done a lot of nudity, every once in a while Michael Patrick King ('Sex and the City: The Movie' director) would make a request and I struggled. But because I love him and I want to please him I tried. But deep down, I just panic".
Kristin confesses that she shares a few character traits with her naive and conservative character Charlotte, but says that in real-life that she is more relaxed.
She added, "I'm a lot more laid-back than Charlotte. She is like a terrier and I'm more of a mutt! I'm not so goal orientated. I definitely take life seriously, but I'm not as focused as she is".
'Sex and the City: The Movie' which also stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kim Cattrall opens in cinemas around the world from next week.

Many of Jessica Alba's friends and family were astonished to discover that she got married on Monday (19.05.08).
The 27-year-old actress tied the knot with Cash Warren who is 31, in a secret ceremony with no guests present and the couple managed to keep their marriage a secret from everyone.
A source close to Jessica, described her as "very responsible" and said, "Jessica and Cash's ceremony surprised even good friends. She used to feel it would be OK to wait until after the baby was born to get married but her traditional side must have really kicked in. Cash is a wonderful guy and she really does love him".
Jessica's father Mark confirmed the ceremony, saying: "It was well-hidden from the paparazzi and a lot more" and he also spoke of his happiness for the 'Sin City' star, adding to Latina.com, "I think it is good news for her. I'm glad for her. She's a beautiful girl. I'm her dad and I'm happy for her no matter what happens".
The couple are expecting their first child this summer.
Jude Law was seen passionately kissing Kimberly Stewart in a stranger's garden.
An onlooker told Britain's The Sun newspaper, "They were lying on the grass, rolling around and kissing. Their hands were everywhere. They looked like a couple of loved-up teenagers".

She said, "Ageing doesn't bother me at all. I'm enjoying it. I feel I get better with age. I mean, sure, I look at pictures of myself when I was 21 and think, 'Wow, I didn't look so bad!' But I take more care of myself now, so in a way I feel I look better than I did then. I feel good about myself".
Cameron, who is 35, admits that she has had to cut out junk food as she's gotten older because it made her gain weight.
She added, "I used to be able to eat and drink anything I wanted. Fried chicken, onion rings, half a bottle of wine and then go right to bed. But as you get older your insides rebel against you!".

Sienna Miller is said to be in talks to star in 'Wuthering Heights' and to play the part of Catherine 'Cathy' Earnshaw after Natalie Portman pulled out last week.
Sienna has just finished working on 'The Edge of Love' which was directed by John Maybury who is also the director of the big screen adaptation of Emily Bronte's classic novel.
If she is signed, Sienna will star alongside Michael Fassbender, who will play the part of Heathcliff.
A spokesperson for the film's producers said, "Michael has the raw quality we were looking for. He's the right actor for the role, and he has a sense of star quality about him".
The above the line people on 'Wuthering Heights' were furious after Natalie pulled out of the role, saying she had "seduced" them into giving her the role after actively pursuing the part.
In a survey conducted by 'Marketing' magazine this week, the respondents' top five most loved celebrities were all men, Paul McCartney, Lewis Hamilton, Gary Lineker, Simon Cowell and David Beckham.
Of the five most hated however, the top four were women, Heather Mills, Amy Winehouse, Victoria Beckham and Kerry Katona.
Heather Mills is probably the easiest to understand because many people's main complaint with celebrity status is that it offers those without talent a chance to get rich by manipulation.

Gwyneth Paltrow, who recently posed for a sexy photo shoot for 'V' magazine said she can't resist the fattening goodies even though she tries to live a healthy lifestyle.

The actress, Keira Knightley has to sing in 'The Edge of Love', in which she plays Vera Philips the lover of Welsh poet Dylan Thomas and admits that she found it incredibly hard.
Keira said, "I did some lessons with a voice coach because I can't sing. It was live. There were 100 extras and the director John Maybury was like, 'Now you're going to sing' and I've never been so frightened in my entire life. I never want to do it again. I don't want to be a rock star".
'The Edge of Love', which was written by Keira's mother Sharman Macdonald, is set during 'World War II' and is due for release on June 28.
In an interview in the June issue of Elle magazine, when asked about her relationship with the R&B singer Chris Brown, Rihanna replied, "We've always been friends, but we're very close now".
On the success of Umbrella, "That song is very, very magical. Because even when I travel, I can't believe the kind of people that know that record. Their age, their nationality, they don't speak English, but they all know that song".
Regarding the rumors about a relationship with Jay-Z, "Well, it's crazy that you ask me that. People know that it's not true. Kim Cattrall says that she dieted and exercised to prepare for her nude scene in 'Sex and the City: The Movie'.
She was apparently very nervous about the bawdy sequence, and did everything that she could to be sure that she would look her best.
She said "I exercised and I dieted. I wanted to look the best I could. For me, turning 50 is like when I turned 40. I thought, 'Oh, can I be a sex symbol? Can I play this character? Can I do this?' And I just sort of thought to myself, 'Yes I can.' I will diet, I will make my ass do what I want it to do".
Kim, who is dating the chef Alan Wyse also revealed that she has never been happier, both professionally and personally and added, "I really feel that what is happening for me is that I am happy. I love the movie, things are going great, I'm back in New York and everything is very positive and I am feeling very happy, so that's it".

Sienna Miller lashed out at photographers on Tuesday (06.05.08) and even hit one of them with her handbag.
The actress lost her temper after a paparazzo got too close to her at Los Angeles airport, began swearing and hit him with her handbag.
The photographer shrugged off the assault and simply laughed at the actress until airport security intervened.
Sienna has often complained about the paparazzi and gone as far as branding the public's obsession with fame as "weird".
She said, "Certain aspects obviously I understand, but running down the street with 10 men chasing you isn't very fun. I don't find it easy. I mean, I'm a girl on my own sometimes walking my dogs and have to run home with grown men chasing me".

Christina Ricci, who stars in a new racing movie entitled 'Speed Racer' says that she doesn't own an automobile and hates driving fast.
Ricci said, "I did drive a Porsche 911 but the lease ran out. I appreciate fast cars a lot, but I don't like to drive that fast".
The 28-year-old star who was recently in the U.K. promoting 'Speed Racer', admits that while she loves London she won't be appearing onstage in the West End.
She said, "I've just shot another movie here and I always have great time shooting here but I prefer being a movie actress".
'Speed Racer' will open across Europe this summer.
Christina Aguilera apparently has such a large shoe collection that she needs a ladder on wheels to reach them.
Christina says she puts "a lot of effort into planning her wardrobe" and likes to keeps things on display so she can admire all her accessories. "I have loads of wig-heads for hats and a shoe-wall filled from floor to ceiling. It even has a ladder on wheels, a bit like an old library, so I can scoot along and get what I want quickly".
Christina insists however that, "Trends don't particularly interest me", and added that the high heels that she loves so much can often get her into trouble, "I was doing a dance move and I had to get off a table. Somehow my high heel got stuck in my fishnet tights and I fell flat on the floor. I sat there with a bruised butt and a tear in my pantyhose, shrugged my shoulders and had a good laugh with the audience. It was kind of embarrassing but, hey, the show must go on".
